About the event
The Qing Ming Festival holds great importance for many Chinese, as it is a time to express filial piety and gratitude to their ancestors. We invite you to join us in commemorating and honoring our forebears by engaging in the recitation of the Compassionate Samadhi Water Repentance. This Dharma service provides an opportunity to transfer merits to your ancestors, praying for their rebirth in the Western Pureland. On this special day, temporary plaques are available for you to dedicate merit to your ancestors.
The Compassionate Samadhi Water Repentance was created by Ven. Zhixuan, who served as an imperial preceptor during the late Tang dynasty. According to the Preface, after receiving a lavish and costly gift (a Dharma seat) from Emperor Yizong (唐懿宗), a painful facial tumor appeared on his knee. No doctor could cure it.
